HOW LONG IS ENOUGH? (MASSAGE)
This depends on what you want done. I suggest 10 minutes per muscle group, so if you just want your quads done then 20 minutes is fine (10mins per leg).
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
This depends entirely on what your issues are.
Your therapist can work best with direct access to the area of concern. So if that's a back then the full exposure of the back would be required, if its buttock pain the full exposure of the buttock would be required. This will require temporary exposure however toweling techniques will ensure your modesty at all times.
Your therapist will not be in the room while you are undressing/dressing, getting onto or off the table, to ensure your modesty.
If you are uncomfortable with this we can at times work around and through clothing but this will eliminate certain techniques that can be effective.
Toweling techniques ensure your modesty at all times, a towel will be tucked into your shorts/underwear to prevent the oil ruining them and to set a barrier that the massage therapist will not pass. This also keeps the other parts of you warmer and cuddlier!
WHAT IS YOUR NEW PATIENT PROCEDURE?
Every new patient goes through a thourough consultation to assess how we can best help you, if the service you want is safe and to make sure you know exactly what will be required of you during the session.
This includes a physical examination, setting goals and filling out the necessary health and safety paper work
WHAT IF I CAN'T MAKE MY SESSION TIME?
If you realise within 24 hours of your session that you cannot make the allotted time, you will still be charged for the full cost of the session. This is because at Activate Sports Therapy we sell our time, and if you cancel your appointment late then we cannot offer that time to someone else who may have wanted it.
If you cancel and give us more than 24 hours notice then you will not be charged for the session.
